MELO CAMPOS ADVOGADOS is a traditional law firm with more than 90 years’ history, beginning in 1923, when EZEQUIEL DE MELO CAMPOS, a graduate of the Faculdade Livre de Direito law school (currently UFMG – Minas Gerais Federal University), started his pioneering legal practice, having been the 6th to register in the Minas Gerais section of the OAB (Brazilian Bar Association).

Graduated in 1967 from the Faculty of Law of UFMG, he was the speaker of the Class and, as best student throughout the course, received the “Rio Branco Medal”, the most important award granted by the institution. 

He studied doctoral studies in the area of ​​Criminology and Comparative Criminal Law, in the same Faculty, of which he was Professor of Constitutional Law, replacing the renowned and longed Professor Raul Machado Horta. 

Lawyer with a preferred role in the area of ​​Public Law, has extensive experience in second instance law and Superior Courts (STF and STJ). 

In addition to a well-known expert and former professor of Tax Law, he was one of the founders and founders of the Brazilian Tax Law Association – ABRADT, being its first vice-president between 1996 and 2000.
